DetailsView.DataItemCount Property

Note: This property is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

Gets the number of items in the underlying data source.

Namespace: System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly: System.Web (in system.web.dll)

public:
property int DataItemCount {
	int get ();
}
/** @property */
public int get_DataItemCount ()

public function get DataItemCount () : int

Property Value

The number of items in the underlying data source.

When the paging feature is enabled (by setting the AllowPaging property to true), use the DataItemCount property to determine the total number of records in the underlying data source.

NoteNote

Because the DetailsView control displays only one record at a time, this value also corresponds to the total number of pages required to display every record in the data source.

To determine the index of the current record from the underlying data source, use the DataItemIndex property.

The following code example demonstrates how to use the DataItemCount property to determine the number of items in the data source. This value is used to display the page count in a Label control contained within a custom pager row.

No code example is currently available or this language may not be supported.
