DataList.DeleteCommand Event

Occurs when the Delete button is clicked for an item in the DataList control.

Namespace: System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly: System.Web (in system.web.dll)

public:
event DataListCommandEventHandler^ DeleteCommand {
	void add (DataListCommandEventHandler^ value);
	void remove (DataListCommandEventHandler^ value);
}
/** @event */
public void add_DeleteCommand (DataListCommandEventHandler value)

/** @event */
public void remove_DeleteCommand (DataListCommandEventHandler value)

JScript supports the use of events, but not the declaration of new ones.

The DeleteCommand event is raised when the Delete button is clicked for an item in the DataList control.

A typical handler for the DeleteCommand event removes the selected item from the data source and then rebinds the data to the DataList control.

For more information about handling events, see How to: Consume Events in a Web Forms Application.

The following code example demonstrates how to specify and code a handler for the DeleteCommand event. It deletes the selected item in the DataList control when the Delete button is clicked.

The following code sample uses the single-file code model and may not work correctly if copied directly into a code-behind file. This code sample must be copied into an empty text file that has an .aspx extension. For more information on the Web Forms code model, see ASP.NET Web Page Code Model.
