DataGrid::OnDeleteCommand Method
Raises the DeleteCommand event. This allows you to provide a custom handler for the event.
Assembly: System.Web (in System.Web.dll)
Parameters
- e
- Type: System.Web.UI.WebControls::DataGridCommandEventArgs
A DataGridCommandEventArgs that contains event data.
Use the OnDeleteCommand method to provide a custom handler for the DeleteCommand event.
The DeleteCommand event is raised when the Delete button is clicked for an item in the DataGrid control.
A typical handler for the DeleteCommand event removes the selected item from the data source and then rebinds the data to the DataGrid control.
Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Raising an Event.
Notes to InheritorsWhen overriding OnDeleteCommand in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnDeleteCommand method.
For more information about handling events, see Consuming Events.
The following code example demonstrates how to specify and code a handler for the DeleteCommand event to delete an item from the DataGrid control.
