BaseDataList.OnDataSourceViewChanged Method

Raises the DataSourceViewChanged event.

Namespace: System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly: System.Web (in system.web.dll)

protected virtual void OnDataSourceViewChanged (
	Object sender,
	EventArgs e
)
protected void OnDataSourceViewChanged (
	Object sender,
	EventArgs e
)
protected function OnDataSourceViewChanged (
	sender : Object,
	e : EventArgs
)
Not applicable.

Parameters

sender

The source of the event.

e

An EventArgs that contains the event data.

The OnDataSourceViewChanged method notifies a data-bound control that the underlying data source has changed and that the control should rebind and any necessary work should be performed. Typically, the OnDataSourceViewChanged method is called when a property of the data source view has changed.

The BaseDataList class sets the RequiresDataBinding property to true when the DataSourceViewChanged event is raised.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Raising an Event.

The OnDataSourceViewChanged method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors: When overriding OnDataSourceViewChanged in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnDataSourceViewChanged method so that registered delegates receive the event.
