AccessDataSource.ProviderName Property

Gets the name of the .NET data provider that the AccessDataSource control uses to connect to a Microsoft Access database.

Namespace:  System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly:  System.Web (in System.Web.dll)

[BrowsableAttribute(false)]
public override string ProviderName { get; set; }
<asp:AccessDataSource ProviderName="String" />

Property Value

Type: System.String
The string "System.Data.OleDb".

ExceptionCondition
InvalidOperationException

An attempt was made to set the ProviderName property.

While the AccessDataSource control exposes the ProviderName property because it is inherited from its base class, attempting to set the ProviderName property results in a NotSupportedException exception.

The following code example demonstrates how to display the ProviderName property of the AccessDataSource control in a Web Forms page.
