TextBox::Password Property

Gets or sets a value indicating whether the input must be treated as a password and the characters masked on the target device. The default value is false. This API is obsolete. For information about how to develop ASP.NET mobile applications, see the www.asp.net/mobile Web site.

Namespace:  System.Web.UI.MobileControls
Assembly:  System.Web.Mobile (in System.Web.Mobile.dll)

[BrowsableAttribute(true)]
[BindableAttribute(true)]
public:
property bool Password {
	bool get ();
	void set (bool value);
}
<asp:TextBox Password="True|False" />

Property Value

Type: System::Boolean
true if the input must be treated as a password; otherwise, false.

An asterisk is a typical character that is used to mask a password.

NoteNote

Setting the Password property to true does not encrypt or otherwise protect the password string during transmission.
