WmlMobileTextWriter::AddFormVariable Method

Adds a variable to be initialized when the browser renders the form. This API is obsolete. For information about how to develop ASP.NET mobile applications, see the www.asp.net/mobile Web site.

Namespace:  System.Web.UI.MobileControls.Adapters
Assembly:  System.Web.Mobile (in System.Web.Mobile.dll)

public:
void AddFormVariable(
	String^ clientID,
	String^ value,
	bool generateRandomID
)

Parameters

clientID
Type: System::String
The identifier for the control containing the variable to initialize.
value
Type: System::String
The value to which the variable is initialized when the browser renders the form.
generateRandomID
Type: System::Boolean
true to encrypt the identifier for the control; otherwise, false.

All references to the client identifier on the page are mapped, resulting in the same postback regardless of mapping. The AddFormVariable method also can scramble client IDs that must be encrypted for security reasons. Only visible controls generate variables.
