HtmlTextWriter::TagLeftChar Field

Represents the opening angle bracket (<) of a markup tag.

The TagLeftChar field is used by the RenderBeginTag, WriteBeginTag, WriteFullBeginTag, and WriteEndTag methods when writing markup tags.

The following code example renders the first character of the opening tag of a <table> element with the element name. The code example uses the Write method with the TagLeftChar field as a parameter.
