HtmlTextArea.Cols Property

Gets or sets the width (in characters) of the HtmlTextArea control.

Namespace: System.Web.UI.HtmlControls
Assembly: System.Web (in system.web.dll)

public:
property int Cols {
	int get ();
	void set (int value);
}
/** @property */
public int get_Cols ()

/** @property */
public void set_Cols (int value)

public function get Cols () : int

public function set Cols (value : int)

Property Value

The width (in characters) of the HtmlTextArea control. The default value is -1, which indicates that this property is not set.

Use the Cols property to specify or determine the width (in characters) of the HtmlTextArea control. If you enter text that is longer than the width of the text box, the text automatically continues on the next line of the control.

To control the height of the control, set the Rows property.

The following code example demonstrates how to use the Cols property to control the width of the HtmlTextArea control.
