HtmlSelect.LoadViewState Method

Restores the HtmlSelect control's view state information from a previous page request that was saved by the SaveViewState method.

Namespace: System.Web.UI.HtmlControls
Assembly: System.Web (in system.web.dll)

protected:
virtual void LoadViewState (
	Object^ savedState
) override
protected void LoadViewState (
	Object savedState
)
protected override function LoadViewState (
	savedState : Object
)

Parameters

savedState

An Object that represents the control state to be restored.

The HtmlSelect control's view state is stored as a Triplet object. The First field of the Triplet object holds the HtmlSelect control's base view state. The Second field of the Triplet object holds the ListItemCollection collection represented by the Items property. The Third field of the Triplet object holds the selected indices represented by the SelectedIndices property. The LoadViewState method calls the base class's HtmlContainerControl.LoadViewState method to restore the control's base view state.

The LoadViewState method is used primarily by control developers extending the functionality of the HtmlSelect control.

Notes to Inheritors When overriding LoadViewState in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's LoadViewState method so that the HtmlSelect control's view state is properly managed.
