OnDataSourceChanged Method

HierarchicalDataSourceControl.OnDataSourceChanged Method

Raises the DataSourceChanged event.

Namespace:  System.Web.UI
Assembly:  System.Web (in System.Web.dll)

protected virtual void OnDataSourceChanged(
	EventArgs e
)

Parameters

e
Type: System.EventArgs
An EventArgs that contains event data.

The OnDataSourceChanged method notifies a data-bound control that the underlying data source or the data cached in memory has changed, that the control should rebind, and that any necessary work should be performed.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Raising an Event.

The OnDataSourceChanged method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnDataSourceChanged in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnDataSourceChanged method so that registered delegates receive the event.
