ObjectDesignerDataSourceView.Schema Property

Note: This property is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

Gets a schema that describes the data source view that is represented by this view object.

Namespace: System.Web.UI.Design.WebControls
Assembly: System.Design (in system.design.dll)

public:
virtual property IDataSourceViewSchema^ Schema {
	IDataSourceViewSchema^ get () override;
}
/** @property */
public IDataSourceViewSchema get_Schema ()

public override function get Schema () : IDataSourceViewSchema

Property Value

An object implementing the IDataSourceViewSchema that describes the view and the properties of the objects in the list or a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic) if the schema is unavailable.

The Schema property gets the schema tables from the associated designer. If any DataTable objects are returned, the schema selects the DataTable with the same TableName property as this view object, or it selects the first DataTable if this view has no name. The Schema then creates and returns a DataSetViewSchema object from the selected DataTable.

This allows the designer of a data-bound control to provide relevant choices based on the design-time data source view that is selected for data binding.
