ControlDesigner::PreFilterProperties Method

Adds properties to or removes properties from the Properties grid in a design host at design time or provides new design-time properties that might correspond to properties on the associated control.

Namespace:  System.Web.UI.Design
Assembly:  System.Design (in System.Design.dll)

protected:
virtual void PreFilterProperties(
	IDictionary^ properties
) override

Parameters

properties
Type: System.Collections::IDictionary
The properties for the class of the component.

With the PreFilterProperties method, you can add items to the dictionary of properties that a control designer exposes through a TypeDescriptor object.

The keys in the dictionary of properties are the names of the properties. The objects are of type PropertyDescriptor.

Notes to Inheritors

You can directly modify the dictionary that is accessible through the properties parameter, or you can leave it unchanged. If you override the PreFilterProperties method, call the base implementation before you perform your own filtering.
