DataSourceView.CanRetrieveTotalRowCount Property
.NET Framework (current version)
Gets a value indicating whether the DataSourceView object associated with the current DataSourceControl object supports retrieving the total number of data rows, instead of the data.
Assembly: System.Web (in System.Web.dll)
abstract CanRetrieveTotalRowCount : bool with get override CanRetrieveTotalRowCount : bool with get
Property Value
Type: System.Booleantrue if the operation is supported; otherwise, false. The base class implementation returns false.
A data-bound control can request a total row count by adding the DataSourceCapabilities.RetrieveTotalRowCount field to the System.Web.UI.DataSourceSelectArguments object passed to the ExecuteSelect method. If a data-bound control requests a total row count, but the CanRetrieveTotalRowCount property returns false, the data source view throws an exception.
