SerializableAttribute
public class MembershipCreateUserException extends Exception
Not applicable.

An instance of the MembershipCreateUserException class is thrown when a CreateUser operation fails.

NoteNote:

If you are not familiar with the membership features of ASP.NET, see Introduction to Membership before continuing. For a list of other topics related to membership, see Managing Users By Using Membership.

The StatusCode property indicates the reason for the exception so you can handle it appropriately.

The following code example creates a new user for an ASP.NET application configured to use forms authentication and ASP.NET membership. If the user is not created successfully, the code catches the MembershipCreateUserException and displays the message specified in the StatusCode property.

Security noteSecurity Note:

This example contains a text box that accepts user input, which is a potential security threat. By default, ASP.NET Web pages validate that user input does not include script or HTML elements. For more information, see Script Exploits Overview (Visual Studio).
