HttpUtility.UrlEncodeUnicodeToBytes Method
.NET Framework 1.1
Converts a Unicode string into an array of bytes.
[Visual Basic] Public Shared Function UrlEncodeUnicodeToBytes( _ ByVal str As String _ ) As Byte() [C#] public static byte[] UrlEncodeUnicodeToBytes( string str ); [C++] public: static unsigned char UrlEncodeUnicodeToBytes( String* str ) __gc[]; [JScript] public static function UrlEncodeUnicodeToBytes( str : String ) : Byte[];
Parameters
- str
- The string to convert.
Return Value
The byte array.
Remarks
If characters such as blanks and punctuation are passed in an HTTP stream, they might be misinterpreted at the receiving end. URL encoding converts characters that are not valid in a URL to character-entity equivalents; URL decoding reverses the encoding. For example, when embedded in a block of text to be transmitted in a URL, the characters < and > are encoded as %3c and %3d.
Requirements
Platforms: Windows 2000, Windows XP Professional, Windows Server 2003 family
