Property Value

Type: System.String
A value that indicates the type of algorithm used to decrypt data. Auto is the default.

The selected value is not one of the decryption values.

There are three decryption values that can be specified for the Decryption property:

  • Auto, which is the default value, specifies that ASP.NET determines which decryption algorithm to use based on configuration default settings.

  • AES specifies that ASP.NET uses the AES algorithm to decrypt data. AES is the default algorithm to decrypt data.

  • 3DES specifies that ASP.NET uses the TripleDES algorithm to decrypt data.
