HttpCapabilitiesBase.RequiresHtmlAdaptiveErrorReporting Property

Gets a value indicating whether the browser requires nonstandard error messages.

Namespace: System.Web.Configuration
Assembly: System.Web (in system.web.dll)

public virtual bool RequiresHtmlAdaptiveErrorReporting { get; }
/** @property */
public boolean get_RequiresHtmlAdaptiveErrorReporting ()

public function get RequiresHtmlAdaptiveErrorReporting () : boolean

Not applicable.

Property Value

true if the browser requires nonstandard error messages; otherwise, false. The default is false.

If true, the browser does not properly render HTTP error messages. To correct this, server control adapters generate a custom error page for the browser.

The following code example shows how to determine whether the browser requires nonstandard error messages.

<%@ page language="C#"%>

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<script runat="server">
    void Page_Load(Object Sender, EventArgs e)
    {
        CheckBrowserCaps();
    }

    void CheckBrowserCaps()
    {
        String labelText = "";
        System.Web.HttpBrowserCapabilities myBrowserCaps = Request.Browser;
        if (((System.Web.Configuration.HttpCapabilitiesBase)myBrowserCaps).RequiresHtmlAdaptiveErrorReporting)
        {
            labelText = "Browser requires non-standard standard error messages.";
        }
        else
        {
            labelText = "Browser does not require non-standard standard error messages.";
        }

        Label1.Text = labelText;
    }
</script>
