Type.IsNestedAssembly Property

Gets a value indicating whether the Type is nested and visible only within its own assembly.

Namespace: System
Assembly: mscorlib (in mscorlib.dll)

public bool IsNestedAssembly { get; }
/** @property */
public final boolean get_IsNestedAssembly ()

public final function get IsNestedAssembly () : boolean

Not applicable.

Property Value

true if the Type is nested and visible only within its own assembly; otherwise, false.

If the current Type represents a type parameter of a generic type, this property always returns false.

TypeAttributes.VisibilityMask selects the visibility attributes.

The following example declares a nested class with visibility in its own assembly, and displays its IsNestedAssembly property value.

using System;
// Nest a class.
class MyClassA
{
    internal class MyClassB
    {
    }
}
class MyTestClass
{
    public static void Main(string[] args)
    {
        // Get the type of the nested class.
        Type myTypeB = typeof(MyClassA.MyClassB);
        // Get the IsNestedAssembly property of the nested class.
        Console.WriteLine("\nThe IsNestedAssembly property value of MyClassB is {0}.", myTypeB.IsNestedAssembly.ToString());
    }
}

import System.*;

// Nest a class.
class MyClassA
{
    class MyClassB
    {
    } //MyClassB
} //MyClassA

class MyTestClass
{
    public static void main(String[] args)
    {
        // Get the type of the nested class.
        Type myTypeB = MyClassA.MyClassB.class.ToType();

        // Get the IsNestedAssembly property of the nested class.
        Console.WriteLine("\nThe IsNestedAssembly property value of "
            +"MyClassB is {0}.",System.Convert.ToString(
            myTypeB.get_IsNestedAssembly()));
    } //main
} //MyTestClass
