Type::GetEnumUnderlyingType Method

Returns the underlying type of the current enumeration type.
Assembly: mscorlib (in mscorlib.dll)
| Exception | Condition |
|---|---|
| ArgumentException | The current type is not an enumeration. -or- The enumeration type is not valid, because it contains more than one instance field. |
By default, the underlying type of an enumeration in C# and Visual Basic is Int32. Other integer types can be specified.
Windows 7, Windows Vista SP1 or later, Windows XP SP3, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core supported with SP1 or later), Windows Server 2003 SP2
