Decoder.Reset Method

When overridden in a derived class, sets the decoder back to its initial state.

Namespace: System.Text
Assembly: mscorlib (in mscorlib.dll)

[ComVisibleAttribute(false)]
public virtual void Reset ()
/** @attribute ComVisibleAttribute(false) */
public void Reset ()
ComVisibleAttribute(false)
public function Reset ()
Not applicable.

This method clears the internal state of the Decoder object. The method clears any state information preserved from a previous call to GetChars or Convert, including trailing bytes at the end of the previous data block.

Your application should call the Reset method if it wants to reuse the same decoder even after an exception is thrown by GetChars or GetCharCount.
