MsmqBindingElementBase.ReceiveRetryCount Property

Gets or sets the maximum number of times the queue manager should attempt to send a message before transferring it to the retry queue.

Namespace: System.ServiceModel.Channels
Assembly: System.ServiceModel (in system.servicemodel.dll)

public int ReceiveRetryCount { get; set; }
/** @property */
public int get_ReceiveRetryCount ()

/** @property */
public void set_ReceiveRetryCount (int value)

public function get ReceiveRetryCount () : int

public function set ReceiveRetryCount (value : int)

Not applicable.

Property Value

A 32-bit signed integer that specifies the maximum number of times the queue manager should attempt to send a message before transferring it to the retry queue.

Exception typeCondition

ArgumentOutOfRangeException

The value is less than zero.

If the maximum number of delivery attempts is reached and the message is not consumed by the application, then the message is sent to a retry queue for redelivery at some later point in time. The amount of time before the message is transferred back to the sending queue is controlled by RetryCycleDelay. If retry cycles reach the MaxRetryCycles value, then the message is either sent to the poison-message queue, or a negative acknowledgement is sent back to the sender.

For more information, see MaxRetryCycles and RetryCycleDelay.
