SecureString.Copy Method

Creates a copy of the current secure string.

Assembly:  mscorlib (in mscorlib.dll)

public SecureString Copy()

Return Value

Type: System.Security.SecureString
A duplicate of this secure string.

ExceptionCondition
ObjectDisposedException

This secure string has already been disposed.

CryptographicException

An error occurred while encrypting or decrypting the value of this secure string.

If an instance of a SecureString is marked read-only, the copy of that instance will not be read-only.

Supported in: 4, 3.5 SP1

Windows 7, Windows Vista SP1 or later, Windows XP SP3, Windows XP SP2 x64 Edition, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core supported with SP1 or later), Windows Server 2003 SP2
