SignedInfo Class

Contains information about the canonicalization algorithm and signature algorithm used for the XML signature.

Namespace:  System.Security.Cryptography.Xml
Assembly:  System.Security (in System.Security.dll)

[HostProtectionAttribute(SecurityAction.LinkDemand, MayLeakOnAbort = true)]
public class SignedInfo : ICollection, IEnumerable

The SignedInfo type exposes the following members.

Public methodSignedInfoInitializes a new instance of the SignedInfo class.

Public propertyCanonicalizationMethodGets or sets the canonicalization algorithm that is used before signing for the current SignedInfo object.
Public propertyCanonicalizationMethodObjectGets a Transform object used for canonicalization.
Public propertyCountGets the number of references in the current SignedInfo object.
Public propertyIdGets or sets the ID of the current SignedInfo object.
Public propertyIsReadOnlyGets a value that indicates whether the collection is read-only.
Public propertyIsSynchronizedGets a value that indicates whether the collection is synchronized.
Public propertyReferencesGets a list of the Reference objects of the current SignedInfo object.
Public propertySignatureLengthGets or sets the length of the signature for the current SignedInfo object.
Public propertySignatureMethodGets or sets the name of the algorithm used for signature generation and validation for the current SignedInfo object.
Public propertySyncRootGets an object to use for synchronization.

Public methodAddReferenceAdds a Reference object to the list of references to digest and sign.
Public methodCopyToCopies the elements of this instance into an Array object, starting at a specified index in the array.
Public methodEquals(Object)Determines whether the specified Object is equal to the current Object. (Inherited from Object.)
Protected methodFinalizeAllows an object to try to free resources and perform other cleanup operations before it is reclaimed by garbage collection. (Inherited from Object.)
Public methodGetEnumeratorReturns an enumerator that iterates through the collection of references.
Public methodGetHashCodeServes as a hash function for a particular type. (Inherited from Object.)
Public methodGetTypeGets the Type of the current instance. (Inherited from Object.)
Public methodGetXmlReturns the XML representation of the SignedInfo object.
Public methodLoadXmlLoads a SignedInfo state from an XML element.
Protected methodMemberwiseCloneCreates a shallow copy of the current Object. (Inherited from Object.)
Public methodToStringReturns a string that represents the current object. (Inherited from Object.)

Public Extension MethodAsParallelEnables parallelization of a query. (Defined by ParallelEnumerable.)
Public Extension MethodAsQueryableConverts an IEnumerable to an IQueryable. (Defined by Queryable.)
Public Extension MethodCast<TResult>Converts the elements of an IEnumerable to the specified type. (Defined by Enumerable.)
Public Extension MethodOfType<TResult>Filters the elements of an IEnumerable based on a specified type. (Defined by Enumerable.)

The SignedInfo class represents the <SignedInfo> element of an XML signature defined by the XML digital signature specification. The <SignedInfo> element, which is a subelement of the <Signature> element, contains the canonicalization method used for signing, the algorithm used for signing and validation, and references that describe a digital signature.

For most scenarios, you should use the SignedInfo class available from the SignedInfo property to sign and verify XML digital signatures.

For more information about the <SignedInfo> element, see the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) specification at

The HostProtectionAttribute attribute applied to this type or member has the following Resources property value: MayLeakOnAbort. The HostProtectionAttribute does not affect desktop applications (which are typically started by double-clicking an icon, typing a command, or entering a URL in a browser). For more information, see the HostProtectionAttribute class or SQL Server Programming and Host Protection Attributes.
