HashAlgorithm overview

Public Properties

public propertyCanReuseTransform Gets a value indicating whether the current transform can be reused.
public propertyCanTransformMultipleBlocks When overridden in a derived class, gets a value indicating whether multiple blocks can be transformed.
public propertyHash Gets the value of the computed hash code.
public propertyHashSize Gets the size of the computed hash code in bits.
public propertyInputBlockSize When overridden in a derived class, gets the input block size.
public propertyOutputBlockSize When overridden in a derived class, gets the output block size.

Public Methods

public methodClear Releases all resources used by the HashAlgorithm.
public methodComputeHash Overloaded. Computes the hash value for the input data.
public methodstatic (Shared in Visual Basic)Create Overloaded. Creates an instance of an implementation of HashAlgorithm.
public methodEquals (inherited from Object) Overloaded. Determines whether two Object instances are equal.
public methodGetHashCode (inherited from Object) Serves as a hash function for a particular type, suitable for use in hashing algorithms and data structures like a hash table.
public methodGetType (inherited from Object) Gets the Type of the current instance.
public methodInitialize Initializes an implementation of HashAlgorithm.
public methodToString (inherited from Object) Returns a String that represents the current Object.
public methodTransformBlock Computes the hash value for the specified region of the input byte array and copies the resulting hash value to the specified region of the output byte array.
public methodTransformFinalBlock Computes the hash value for the specified region of the specified byte array.

Protected Constructors

protected constructorHashAlgorithm Constructor Initializes a new instance of HashAlgorithm.

Protected Fields

protected fieldHashSizeValue Represents the size of the computed hash code in bits.
protected fieldHashValue Represents the value of the computed hash code.
protected fieldState Represents the state of the hash computation.

Protected Methods

protected methodDispose Releases the unmanaged resources used by the HashAlgorithm and optionally releases the managed resources.
protected methodFinalize (inherited from Object) Overridden. Allows an Object to attempt to free resources and perform other cleanup operations before the Object is reclaimed by garbage collection.

In C# and C++, finalizers are expressed using destructor syntax.

protected methodHashCore When overridden in a derived class, routes data written to the object into the hash algorithm for computing the hash.
protected methodHashFinal When overridden in a derived class, finalizes the hash computation after the last data is processed by the cryptographic stream object.
protected methodMemberwiseClone (inherited from Object) Creates a shallow copy of the current Object.
