CspParameters.ProviderName Field

Represents the provider name for CspParameters.

Namespace:  System.Security.Cryptography
Assembly:  mscorlib (in mscorlib.dll)

public string ProviderName

The ProviderName field is not provided when the ProviderType is greater than 20. In the .NET Framework version 3.5 Service Pack 1 and later, when you create a service provider by using a default constructor, the default ProviderType that is supplied is 24 (PROV_RSA_AES). Therefore, the ProviderName field is not provided. To explicitly specify the ProviderType, use the service provider constructor that takes a CspParameters parameter and set its ProviderType field to a value that is less than 20, for example, 1 (PROV_RSA_FULL).

See the Microsoft Cryptography API (CAPI) documentation in the MSDN library for details on provider names.
