CspKeyContainerInfo.RandomlyGenerated Property

Gets a value indicating whether a key container was randomly generated by a managed cryptography class.

Namespace: System.Security.Cryptography
Assembly: mscorlib (in mscorlib.dll)

'Declaration
Public ReadOnly Property RandomlyGenerated As Boolean
'Usage
Dim instance As CspKeyContainerInfo
Dim value As Boolean

value = instance.RandomlyGenerated

/** @property */
public boolean get_RandomlyGenerated ()

public function get RandomlyGenerated () : boolean

Not applicable.

Property Value

true if the key container was randomly generated; otherwise, false.

Usually, when a randomly generated key container is created, the key container is named "CLR{guid value}."

The following code example creates a key container and retrieves information about that container.

Imports System.Security.Cryptography

            ' a key container is not created until you call
            ' a method that uses the key. This example calls
            ' the Encrypt method before calling the
