WebRequest.ConnectionGroupName Property

[Visual Basic]
Public Overridable Property ConnectionGroupName As String
public virtual string ConnectionGroupName {get; set;}
public: __property virtual String* get_ConnectionGroupName();
public: __property virtual void set_ConnectionGroupName(String*);
public function get ConnectionGroupName() : String;
public function set ConnectionGroupName(String);

Property Value

The name of the connection group for the request.

Exception Type Condition
NotSupportedException Any attempt is made to get or set the property, when the property is not overridden in a descendant class.

The ConnectionGroupName property associates specific requests within an application to one or more connection pools.

Note   The WebRequest class is an abstract (MustInherit in Visual Basic) class. The actual behavior of WebRequest instances at run time is determined by the descendant class returned by the WebRequest.Create method. For more information about default values and exceptions, see the documentation for the descendant classes, such as HttpWebRequest and FileWebRequest.

Notes to Inheritors:  The ConnectionGroupName property typically associates a group of requests that share a set of credentials with a connection to an Internet resource to avoid potential security failures.
