SenderId Property

MessagePropertyFilter.SenderId Property

Gets or sets a value that indicates whether to retrieve Message.SenderId property information when receiving or peeking a message.

Namespace:   System.Messaging
Assembly:  System.Messaging (in System.Messaging.dll)

[MessagingDescriptionAttribute("MsgSenderId")]
public bool SenderId { get; set; }

Property Value

Type: System.Boolean

true to receive Message.SenderId information; otherwise, false. The default is false.

The SenderId property of the Message class is used primarily by the receiving queue manager when authenticating a message. The property is set by Message Queuing and is used by the queue manager to verify who sent the message and that the sender has access rights to the receiving queue.

The following code example demonstrates the use of the SenderId property.

// Set the queue's MessageReadPropertyFilter property to enable the
// message's SenderId property.
queue.MessageReadPropertyFilter.SenderId = true;

// Peek at the message. Time out after ten seconds in case the message
// was not delivered.
orderMessage = queue.Peek(TimeSpan.FromSeconds(10.0));

// Display the value of the message's SenderId property.
Console.WriteLine("Message.SenderId: {0}",
    orderMessage.SenderId);
