MessagePropertyFilter.HashAlgorithm Property

Gets or sets a value that indicates whether to retrieve Message.HashAlgorithm property information when receiving or peeking a message.

Namespace:   System.Messaging
Assembly:  System.Messaging (in System.Messaging.dll)

public bool HashAlgorithm { get; set; }

Property Value

Type: System.Boolean

true to receive Message.HashAlgorithm information; otherwise, false. The default is false.

The HashAlgorithm property of the Message class identifies the hashing algorithm Message Queuing uses when authenticating messages. The hashing algorithm is also used when creating a digital signature for a message.

The following code example demonstrates the use of the HashAlgorithm property.

// Set the queue's MessageReadPropertyFilter property to enable the
// message's HashAlgorithm property.
queue.MessageReadPropertyFilter.HashAlgorithm = true;

// Peek at the message. Time out after ten seconds in case the message
// was not delivered.
orderMessage = queue.Peek(TimeSpan.FromSeconds(10.0));

// Display the value of the message's HashAlgorithm property.
Console.WriteLine("Message.HashAlgorithm: {0}",
