WindowsRuntimeStreamExtensions.AsOutputStream Method

Converts a managed stream in the .NET for Windows Store apps to an output stream in the Windows Runtime.

Parameters

stream
Type: System.IO.Stream

The stream to convert.

Return Value

Type: IOutputStream
A Windows Runtime IOutputStream object that represents the converted stream.

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type Stream. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).

ExceptionCondition
ArgumentNullException

stream is a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic).

NotSupportedException

The stream does not support writing.
