ApplicationIDAttribute Class

Specifies the application ID (as a GUID) for this assembly. This class cannot be inherited.

Namespace: System.EnterpriseServices
Assembly: System.EnterpriseServices (in system.enterpriseservices.dll)

Dim instance As ApplicationIDAttribute

/** @attribute ComVisibleAttribute(false) */
public final class ApplicationIDAttribute extends Attribute
AttributeUsageAttribute(AttributeTargets.Assembly, Inherited=true)
ComVisibleAttribute(false)
public final class ApplicationIDAttribute extends Attribute

ApplicationIDAttribute takes a GUID in its constructor. When registration occurs, the components in the assembly are installed in an application with the given ID.

The following code example demonstrates the use of the ApplicationIDAttribute type.

Imports System.EnterpriseServices
Imports System.Reflection

' The GUID (Globally Unique Identifier) shown below is for example purposes
' only and should be replaced by a GUID that you have generated.

    Public Sub ValueExample()
        ' Get the ApplicationIDAttribute applied to the assembly.
        Dim attribute As ApplicationIDAttribute = CType(Attribute.GetCustomAttribute(System.Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly(), GetType(ApplicationIDAttribute), False), ApplicationIDAttribute)

        ' Display the value of the attribute's Value property.
        MsgBox("ApplicationIDAttribute.Value: " & attribute.Value.ToString())
