SearchResult Class
Encapsulates a node in the Active Directory hierarchy that is returned during a search through DirectorySearcher.
For a list of all members of this type, see SearchResult Members.
System.Object
System.DirectoryServices.SearchResult
[Visual Basic] Public Class SearchResult [C#] public class SearchResult [C++] public __gc class SearchResult [JScript] public class SearchResult
Thread Safety
Any public static (Shared in Visual Basic) members of this type are thread safe. Any instance members are not guaranteed to be thread safe.
Remarks
Instances of SearchResult are very similar to instances of DirectoryEntry. The notable difference is that DirectoryEntry retrieves its information from the Active Directory hierarchy each time a new object is accessed, whereas the data for SearchResult is already available in the SearchResultCollection returned from a query performed with DirectorySearcher. Only those properties that are specified through the DirectorySearcher.PropertiesToLoad property's collection in your query will be available from SearchResult.
Example
[Visual Basic, C#, C++] The following example creates a new DirectoryEntry with the search criteria and uses the FindOne method to initiate the search. The search result is stored in GetDirectoryEntry, where the example then retrieve and parse the search result from.

Dim mySearchResult As SearchResult = myDirectorySearcher.FindOne() If Not (mySearchResult Is Nothing) Then ' Get the 'DirectoryEntry' that corresponds to 'mySearchResult'.
