SqlConnectionStringBuilder.MultipleActiveResultSets Property

Gets or sets a Boolean value that indicates whether multiple active result sets can be associated with the associated connection.

Namespace: System.Data.SqlClient
Assembly: System.Data (in system.data.dll)

public bool MultipleActiveResultSets { get; set; }
/** @property */
public boolean get_MultipleActiveResultSets ()

/** @property */
public void set_MultipleActiveResultSets (boolean value)

public function get MultipleActiveResultSets () : boolean

public function set MultipleActiveResultSets (value : boolean)

Not applicable.

Property Value

The value of the MultipleActiveResultSets property, or false if none has been supplied.

This property corresponds to the "MultipleActiveResultSets" key within the connection string. This setting only has an effect when used with SQL Server 2005 or a later version.

The following example explicitly disables the Multiple Active Result Sets feature that is available when programming against SQL Server 2005.

using System.Data.SqlClient;

class Program
    static void Main()
        SqlConnectionStringBuilder builder = new SqlConnectionStringBuilder();
        builder.DataSource = "(local)";
        builder.IntegratedSecurity = true;
        builder.InitialCatalog = "AdventureWorks";

        // The connection does not allow multiple active result sets
        // by default, so this line of code explicitly
        // enables this feature. Note that this feature is
        // only available when programming against SQL Server 2005
        // or later.
        builder.MultipleActiveResultSets = true;

        Console.WriteLine("Press Enter to continue.");
