OdbcPermission Class

Enables the .NET Framework Data Provider for ODBC to help make sure that a user has a security level sufficient to access an ODBC data source. This class cannot be inherited.

Namespace:   System.Data.Odbc
Assembly:  System.Data (in System.Data.dll)

<SerializableAttribute>
Public NotInheritable Class OdbcPermission
	Inherits DBDataPermission

NameDescription
System_CAPS_pubmethodOdbcPermission()

Obsolete.Initializes a new instance of the OdbcPermission class.

System_CAPS_pubmethodOdbcPermission(PermissionState)

Initializes a new instance of the OdbcPermission class with one of the PermissionState values.

System_CAPS_pubmethodOdbcPermission(PermissionState, Boolean)

Obsolete.Initializes a new instance of the OdbcPermission class.

NameDescription
System_CAPS_pubpropertyAllowBlankPassword

Gets a value indicating whether a blank password is allowed.(Inherited from DBDataPermission.)

NameDescription
System_CAPS_pubmethodAdd(String, String, KeyRestrictionBehavior)

Adds access for the specified connection string to the existing state of the permission.(Overrides DBDataPermission.Add(String, String, KeyRestrictionBehavior).)

System_CAPS_pubmethodAssert()

Declares that the calling code can access the resource protected by a permission demand through the code that calls this method, even if callers higher in the stack have not been granted permission to access the resource. Using Assert can create security issues.(Inherited from CodeAccessPermission.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodCopy()

Returns the OdbcPermission as an IPermission.(Overrides DBDataPermission.Copy().)

System_CAPS_pubmethodDemand()

Forces a SecurityException at run time if all callers higher in the call stack have not been granted the permission specified by the current instance.(Inherited from CodeAccessPermission.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodDeny()

Obsolete.Prevents callers higher in the call stack from using the code that calls this method to access the resource specified by the current instance.(Inherited from CodeAccessPermission.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodEquals(Object)

Determines whether the specified CodeAccessPermission object is equal to the current CodeAccessPermission.(Inherited from CodeAccessPermission.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodFromXml(SecurityElement)

Reconstructs a security object with a specified state from an XML encoding.(Inherited from DBDataPermission.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodGetHashCode()

Gets a hash code for the CodeAccessPermission object that is suitable for use in hashing algorithms and data structures such as a hash table.(Inherited from CodeAccessPermission.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodGetType()

Gets the Type of the current instance.(Inherited from Object.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodIntersect(IPermission)

Returns a new permission object representing the intersection of the current permission object and the specified permission object.(Inherited from DBDataPermission.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodIsSubsetOf(IPermission)

Returns a value indicating whether the current permission object is a subset of the specified permission object.(Inherited from DBDataPermission.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodIsUnrestricted()

Returns a value indicating whether the permission can be represented as unrestricted without any knowledge of the permission semantics.(Inherited from DBDataPermission.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodPermitOnly()

Prevents callers higher in the call stack from using the code that calls this method to access all resources except for the resource specified by the current instance.(Inherited from CodeAccessPermission.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodToString()

Creates and returns a string representation of the current permission object.(Inherited from CodeAccessPermission.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodToXml()

Creates an XML encoding of the security object and its current state.(Inherited from DBDataPermission.)

System_CAPS_pubmethodUnion(IPermission)

Returns a new permission object that is the union of the current and specified permission objects.(Inherited from DBDataPermission.)

This class is intended for future use when the .NET Framework Data Provider for ODBC is enabled for partial trust scenarios. The .NET Framework Data Provider for ODBD currently requires FullTrust permission. Currently, using the OdbcPermission class has no effect.
