OdbcDataReader.GetValues Method (Object[])

The .NET API Reference documentation has a new home. Visit the .NET API Browser on docs.microsoft.com to see the new experience.

Populates an array of objects with the column values of the current row.

Namespace:   System.Data.Odbc
Assembly:  System.Data (in System.Data.dll)

public override int GetValues(
	object[] values

Type: System.Object[]

An array of type Object into which to copy the attribute columns.

Return Value

Type: System.Int32

The number of instances of Object in the array.

For most applications, the M:System.Data.Odbc.OdbcDataReader.GetValues method provides an efficient means for retrieving all columns, instead of retrieving each column individually.

You can pass an Object array that contains fewer than the number of columns that are contained in the resulting row. Only the amount of data the Object array holds is copied to the array. You can also pass an Object array whose length is more than the number of columns that are contained in the resulting row.

This method returns DBNull for null database columns.
