EdmFunctions.IndexOf Method

Creates a DbFunctionExpression that invokes the canonical 'IndexOf' function with the specified arguments, which must each have a string result type. The result type of the expression is Edm.Int32.

Parameters

searchString
Type: System.Data.Common.CommandTrees.DbExpression

An expression that specifies the string to search for stringToFind.

stringToFind
Type: System.Data.Common.CommandTrees.DbExpression

An expression that specifies the string to locate within searchString should be checked.

Return Value

Type: System.Data.Common.CommandTrees.DbFunctionExpression
A new DbFunctionExpression that returns the first index of stringToFind in searchString.

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type DbExpression. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).
