ConfigurationSection.ShouldSerializeSectionInTargetVersion Method
Indicates whether the current ConfigurationSection instance should be serialized when the configuration object hierarchy is serialized for the specified target version of the .NET Framework.
Assembly: System.Configuration (in System.Configuration.dll)
'Declaration Protected Friend Overridable Function ShouldSerializeSectionInTargetVersion ( _ targetFramework As FrameworkName _ ) As Boolean
Parameters
- targetFramework
- Type: System.Runtime.Versioning.FrameworkName
The target version of the .NET Framework.
Each configuration section that is created for the .NET Framework version 4 and later versions must explicitly override this method and return true, but only if the configuration section is valid for the specified version of the .NET Framework. Existing configuration sections that were created for earlier versions of the .NET Framework do not have to be changed.
The base type contains a default implementation of this method that always returns true. If you implement a configuration section and you do not override this method, by default the configuration section will be serialized for all framework versions.
Windows 7, Windows Vista SP1 or later, Windows XP SP3, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core supported with SP1 or later), Windows Server 2003 SP2
The .NET Framework does not support all versions of every platform. For a list of the supported versions, see .NET Framework System Requirements.
