ComponentDesigner::InitializeNewComponent Method

Initializes a newly created component.

Namespace:  System.ComponentModel.Design
Assembly:  System.Design (in System.Design.dll)

public:
virtual void InitializeNewComponent(
	IDictionary^ defaultValues
)

Parameters

defaultValues
Type: System.Collections::IDictionary
A name/value dictionary of default values to apply to properties. May be nullptr if no default values are specified.

Implements

IComponentInitializer::InitializeNewComponent(IDictionary)

The InitializeNewComponent method is called when a component is first initialized, typically after being first added to a design surface.

You may perform any necessary initialization of this component, and you may ignore the defaultValues dictionary altogether.

The default implementation of this method does nothing.
