Marshal.GetTypeInfoName Method (ITypeInfo)

Note: This method is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

Retrieves the name of the type represented by an ITypeInfo.

Namespace: System.Runtime.InteropServices
Assembly: mscorlib (in mscorlib.dll)

public static string GetTypeInfoName (
	ITypeInfo typeInfo
)
public static String GetTypeInfoName (
	ITypeInfo typeInfo
)
public static function GetTypeInfoName (
	typeInfo : ITypeInfo
) : String

Parameters

typeInfo

A ITypeInfo object that represents an ITypeInfo pointer.

Return Value

The name of the type pointed to by the typeInfo parameter.

Exception typeCondition

ArgumentNullException

The typeInfo parameter is a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic).

You can also retrieve the name of the type represented by an ITypeInfo by calling the UCOMITypeInfo.GetDocumentation method and passing a -1 for its first parameter. For additional information about ITypeInfo, see the MSDN Library.

NoteNote

This method uses SecurityAction.LinkDemand to prevent it from being called from untrusted code; only the immediate caller is required to have SecurityPermissionAttribute.UnmanagedCode permission. If your code can be called from partially trusted code, do not pass user input to Marshal class methods without validation. For important limitations on using the LinkDemand member, see Demand vs. LinkDemand.
