Return Value

Type: boolean
false if the _ask parameter is true; otherwise throws an exception.

ExceptionCondition
Error

A finished production order does not enable releasing.

When a finished production order is being released, this method always throws an exception because as soon as the production order is reported as finished, releasing is no longer enabled.
