WorksheetFunction.ChiSq_Dist_RT Method

Returns the right-tailed probability of the chi-squared distribution.

Namespace:  Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel
Assembly:  Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel (in Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.dll)

Syntax

'Declaration
Function ChiSq_Dist_RT ( _
    Arg1 As Double, _
    Arg2 As Double _
) As Double
'Usage
Dim instance As WorksheetFunction
Dim Arg1 As Double
Dim Arg2 As Double
Dim returnValue As Double

returnValue = instance.ChiSq_Dist_RT(Arg1, _
    Arg2)
double ChiSq_Dist_RT(
    double Arg1,
    double Arg2
)

Parameters

  • Arg1
    Type: System.Double

    The value at which you want to evaluate the distribution.

Return Value

Type: System.Double

Remarks

The χ2 distribution is associated with a χ2 test. Use the χ2 test to compare observed and expected values.

For example, a genetic experiment might hypothesize that the next generation of plants will exhibit a certain set of colors. By comparing the observed results with the expected ones, you can decide whether your original hypothesis is valid.

If either argument is nonnumeric, ChiSq_Dist_RT generates an error.

If x is negative, ChiSq_Dist_RT generates an error.

If degrees_freedom is not an integer, it is truncated.

If degrees_freedom < 1 or degrees_freedom > 10^10, ChiSq_Dist_RT generates an error. ChiSq_Dist_RT is calculated as ChiSq_Dist_RT = P(X>x), where X is a χ2 random variable.
