Office 365 REST APIs
Office 365 APIs extend the development platform introduced in Office 2013. Most significantly, the new APIs provide the ability for both websites and native applications to consume Office 365 data. These APIs use REST/OData for data transport and OAuth for authentications and authorization.
In addition to web applications, native applications running on Windows 8, iOS, Android, and other device platforms are able to consume Office 365 data by using REST APIs and standard OAuth flows. Office 365 APIs provides support for a range of data sources, including SharePoint, Exchange, and Microsoft Azure Active Directory (Azure AD).
