BIT Package A is a sample package to illustrate the migration of data in a Speech Server 2004 R2 reports database to a Speech Server tuning database.

Preparing to Migrate Data

Schedule the migration for a time when users do not have to access the data in the source or target database. You might also want to lock the data to ensure that no work is performed during the migration. Migration into a target database is not supported if a Speech Server MssLogToDatabase migration or another BIT Package A migration is in progress.

To prepare the data for migration

  1. Back up all database data.

  2. Create the Speech Server schema in the target database, if it is not present.

For information about creating a Microsoft SQL??Server database, see Creating a New SQL Server Database in Server Explorer. For information about creating the Speech Server schema, see Import Log Files into the Tuning Database.

  3. Check the SQL Script file Source Database Optional Tables.sql before executing Package A and ensure that the SQL statements are appropriate for execution.

Note

BIT Package A requires a Speech Server 2004 R2 reports database as its source. If your source database is from the initial version of Speech Server 2004 (in other words, not Speech Server 2004 R2), run the Database Upgrade tool that ships with Speech Server 2004 R2 on the source database to upgrade it to the R2 version.
