Installing Outlook 2000 After Installing Office 2000

By default, Microsoft Outlook 2000 is included in each of the following Microsoft Office 2000 editions:

  • Office 2000 Premium
  • Office 2000 Professional
  • Office 2000 Standard
  • Office 2000 Small Business

If you do not want to install Outlook 2000 when you install the rest of Office 2000, however, you can use the Office Custom Installation Wizard to remove Outlook from the installation. Then, when you are ready to deploy Outlook 2000, you can add it back in to your installation and deploy Office 2000 again.

To deploy Office 2000 without Outlook 2000

  1. Start the Office Custom Installation Wizard.
  2. On the Set Feature Installation States panel, click the down arrow next to Microsoft Outlook for Windows, and then click Not Available.
  3. Right-click the down arrow, and then click Hide.
  4. Configure the rest of Office 2000 and deploy Office 2000.

To deploy Outlook 2000 after Office 2000

  1. Start the Office Custom Installation Wizard.
  2. On the Open the MST File panel, click Open an existing MST file.
  3. Click Browse to select the transform (MST file) from your original Office 2000 deployment.
  4. On the Set Feature Installation States panel, click the down arrow next to Microsoft Outlook for Windows, and then select the installation option you want to use.
  5. Right-click the down arrow, and then click Unhide.
  6. Uninstall the previous Office 2000 with no user prompts or user interface displayed.
  7. Configure the rest of the Outlook 2000 options in the Custom Installation Wizard.
  8. Deploy Office 2000 again with your modified transform (MST file).
