Reference a Cell in a Formula [Visio 2003 SDK Documentation]

  1. Double-click the cell in which you want to place the reference, and then place the insertion point at the location you want in the formula.
  2. On the Insert menu, click Name.
  3. In the Insert Name dialog box, click the cell in the list that you want to reference, and then click OK.
  4. To insert more than one reference in your formula, click Insert after each selection. Click OK when you are finished.
  5. Press ENTER to accept the formula. Or press ESC to cancel the changes.

Note  You can quickly reference a cell in a formula by placing the insertion point in the formula bar, clicking the cell you want to reference, and then pressing ENTER. The name of the cell is inserted at the insertion point.
