Step 7: Clean Up

After reviewing your new run-time image, you remove items that you installed during the tutorial.

Note   Microsoft recommends that you do not delete any installed database, platform, package, component, or repository. Deleting items from the database can render all the development tools inoperable, and you may be forced to reinstall the database. Any .sld or .slx file that references a specific item in the database cannot be opened if that item is not available in the database.

  1. Run Component Database Manager.

  2. Select the Component tab, scroll the alphabetized list of components, and select the Hello World component.

  3. Choose Delete Component. When prompted to confirm deletion of the Hello World component, choose Yes.

  4. Select the Repository tab, and then select the HelloRepository repository.

  5. Choose Delete Repository.

The Confirm Delete Repository dialog box prompts you to confirm deletion of the HelloRepository repository.

  6. Select the Delete all files in the repository check box, and then choose Yes to delete the repository.

  7. Choose Close.

  8. Start Windows Explorer.

  9. Expand the drive where you originally installed the Tutorial folder.

  10. Right-click the Tutorial folder, and then choose Delete.

The Confirm Folder Delete dialog box prompts you to confirm deletion of the Tutorial folder.

  11. Choose Yes to delete the folder.

  12. Exit Windows Explorer.
