Administering a Shared Database

System Administrators who are setting up a shared component database must use the following procedure when installing the component database.

To administer a shared database

  1. Install Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or Sequel Server 2005. For additional information, see SQL Server 2000 Installation and SQL Server 2005 Installation.
  2. Set the authentication mode of the SQL server to SQL server authentication mode. For additional information, see Setting the Authentication Mode.
  3. Set up user accounts to access the database. For additional information, see User Account Setup.
