You have several options for setting up your development tools and component database, depending on whether you want to set up a single user or a team environment. For more information, see Installation Options.
Whether you install the development tools and component database on the same or different computers, there are minimum hardware and operating system requirements for running Windows® Embedded Studio for Windows XP Embedded.
Before you install Windows XP Embedded:
- Back up important data and applications stored on your computer.
- Disable or uninstall antivirus applications that are running.
- (Optional) Set up a free logical disk on your development system if you plan to deploy your run-time image on your development system for testing purposes.
- Have your Windows XP Embedded installation discs and product identification key available.
