PCMCIA Controller Driver Test

The PCMCIA Controller Driver Test assesses the functionality of a custom driver for a PCMCIA controller. It is not necessary to run this test if you use the PCMCIA driver distributed with Microsoft® Windows® CE .NET.

The following table lists the hardware requirements for the PCMCIA Controller Driver Test.

Requirements Description
PC Card For test cases that exercise a single-function PC Card, you can use any PC Card. For test cases that exercise a multiple-function PC Card, you must use a card that exposes more than one function to drivers.

The following table lists the software requirements for the PCMCIA Controller Driver Test.

Requirements Description
Tux.exe Tux Test Harness, which is required for executing the test.
Kato.dll Kato logging engine, which is required for logging test data.
Tooltalk.dll Application required by Tux.exe and Kato.dll. Handles the transport between the target device and the development workstation.
Ddlx.dll Set of tools that extend the capabilities of the Tux Test Harness to allow the test module to operate in a device.exe address space.
Pcmcetsts.dll Test .dll file.
Dummydr.dll A dummy driver. To avoid conflicts with other drivers, the PCMCIA Controller Driver Test replaces possible client drivers, such as storage management drivers, with the dummy driver.
PCMCIA driver A driver that manages PC Card sockets on a Windows CE–based platform.

Note   When you run the PCMCIA Controller Driver Test, the CETK temporarily copies files to the root directory of the target device. Before running the test, verify that there is at least 4.0 megabytes (MB) of free space in the root directory of the target device. If there is not sufficient space in the root directory of the target device, the test cannot run.
